My Story

Shane Monahan is a former professional rugby player having played with teams such as Leinster rugby, Connacht rugby, Rotherham rugby, Gloucester rugby and Munster rugby. During his rugby playing days Shane would like to unwind by pursuing his other passion, art and design. This passion soon turned into a successful business which earned Shane a reputation as the Rugby artist.

Shane has always enjoyed sketching, drawing and painting. This hobby eventually led him to study at the Dublin Institute of technology and attain a BScs honours degree in Product design. This degree taught Shane valuable lessons about the world of engineering, business, marketing and graphic design. When Shane retired from the world of professional rugby in 2015 he began to focus all of his energy and design ability into his new start up business venture Limor.

Limor is a new social audio platform that allows users to instantly record, edit and share audio and podcasts from their phone anywhere, anytime in a social environment which also allows for instant voice interaction and communication.

What Instagram did for images and Youtube did for video Limor does for voice and podcasts. It was due to this new focus on building a technology company that Shane put a pause on creating his artwork.

The year is now 2024 and Limor is going from strength to strength. After a long time Shane has begun to paint again. Painting is a great way for Shane to relax and "switch off" from the rigours of running a fast paced social audio technology company.

Moving into the future Shane will continue to paint rugby related artwork as well as more artwork inspired by his love of movies & television.
